Apple iFrame

Perhaps Apple is planning their new iFrame video format to really be just that, nothing but h.264 I-frames. If so that would be a great leap forward in the disaster that is high definition video editing.

Unfortunately they have also decided to impose some strange resolution restrictions along with the mix.

As one who is constantly trying to explain the intricacies of highly compressed formats and their respective limitations to editing newcomers I just dread the introduction of yet another proprietary video properties.
