Style customization and authoring now possible for muvee Reveal
muvee (no that’s not a typo – they like it to be with a lowercase “m”) today announced that users of their muvee Reveal automatic video editing software program, can now create and customize muvee Reveal styles for free through muvee’s open platform.
Styles are the templates that the muvee automatic video editing program uses to define the way video is edited and processed automatically from raw video and images. By opening up the style architecture, muvee will allow users to create their own styles from scratch or modify any of muvee’s existing styles.
Muvee are hoping that by opening up their styles in this way they will be encouraging users to tweak and customize muvee’s existing styles and provide a large base of material for users to draw upon in creating their own styles.
muvee Reveal styles are authored in a scripting language called muSE, a simplified dialect of the Scheme programming language. This allows the style author to have comprehensive control over the look and feel of styles, as well as providing ways to control and leverage muvee’s automatic construction engine. Authors are able to customize the behavior of muvee’s music-responsive visual effects, leverage the unique intelligent summarizing features that lie at the heart of muvee products, and add their own visual elements.
muvee styles make use of industry-standard OpenGL graphics language, providing additional control to style authors. For example style authors can write or import their own shaders (short pieces of code that tell the graphics processor chip how to render objects in a scene).
